Good evening. There is a documentary on YouTube called " Grid down Power up" and I would strongly advise everyone to watch it. It is presented by Dennis Quaid and it shows how the power grid could totally collapse and how society could react. It is not there to tell you how to prepare. Come on people that is why you are preppers and why you are in this group. Personally I have always thought SHTF would happen in 2025 with a massive CME when the sun hits the solar maximum but this has made me realise that our grid could go down tomorrow from many different sources. I still think 2025 is on the cards. Up to you whether you watch it or not. Be well everyone

Which is the best for a long term SHTF situation?? Yes we all stockpile these 2 but which is best? Personally I was leaning towards rice even though gram for gram pasta will provide more energy but rice has one huge advantage. You don't have to cook it. Leave it to soak for 12 hours and hey presto. ( not saying I would like eating cold rice but if needs must and no waste of valuable cooking supplies like gas). Now I have just learned that pasta doesn't need to be simmering for 15 minutes. Just bring to the boil and cover and leave it the hot water for 15 minutes and all done. I think we should stockpile both but what is your opinion??

Has anyone seen the new series on prime video called " Last light". It's about what happens in this country and the entire world when the global oil supply get contaminated by a toxin. Make you glad to be a prepper.

In Food Storage
Looking for a bit of advice if you can help. I store my rice and pasta in large food storage buckets. I can fit about 11 kgs rice and 6 kgs pasta per bucket. I do not open the packets I just stack them and seal the bucket. Are these ok for long term storage or should I be using Mylar bags. If you think the buckets are ok shou I be using oxygen absorber as well Thank you 🙏

Hey Ana. Just wanted to say thank you for keeping us informed about what is happening. I was watching your latest video on rice getting scarce and it spurred me on to keep prepping. The reason I say keep prepping is that I have hit my target if 1 years supply of stored non perishable food. ( a mix of canned, dried and dehydrated) This is easier for me than most as I live alone with 2 large dogs ( who I also prep for) so I don’t have the expense of 3 or 4 kids to worry about . After watching the video I realised I cannot really say “ I have enough “ because in all honesty if things keep going the way they are soon every normal household in the country is going to be suffering and we will look back at May 2023 and say “ things were so good then” On a good note Asda in Brighton is still changing 48p for a kilo of rice keep up the great work 🙏

Hi all. I have always planned on doing this alone but I keep hearing again and again that being a “ lone wolf prepper” doesn’t work. They say you need a community of like minded people to get through SHTF. I disagree with this as I see too many problems with joining a community Any thoughts??

Hi all. I have been prepping for a long time now but I have never got into the growing my own side of things. The reason why to me is simple. If things go south which I see happening very soon then why wiu you advertise the fact that you have a supply of food available. People are going to be desperate so hopping over a wall or into an allotment is going to be easy and you may well give these people the idea to see what else you have indoors. I keep my preps quite not advertise them
